I live in the Bay Area and I like food.
donut kill my vibe 🍩 😎
Eid Mubarak! So glad to be celebrating with family and friends - even if it is in 100 degree weather! ❤️ (idk how ~influencers~ take these photos lmao)
Mom's spaghetti? More like Amma's biryani! I planned to go sweet for my last Bayfood Fasts post, but I ran out of time. However, since there will be a lot of eating on Eid, biryani seemed like the perfect thing to post - and to prepare for the holiday! My mom's biryani is a big hit with my friends and co-workers when I've brought it to a holiday potluck - and it's vegetarian! It's easier than you think to make it, so be sure to check it out on the blog (link in bio) to get the recipe! Also moms are the worst people to get recipes from - it's muscle memory at this point so they can't give you proper measurements. 😂 But I got her to do it!
The not-so-inner child in me was amazed to see the giant collection of games at The Game - over 700! And you can spend the day playing all of them for an unlimited time for just $5. And of course, munch on some mochiko popcorn chicken, furikake waffle fries, or waffle sandwiches. 🙌🏼 Be sure to check it all out on the blog, link in bio! 🎲
*this* close to the start of a beautiful weekend. 🍩 ☀️ ☕️
Now that it's heating up (more or less in the Bay, anyway), you're gonna need to cool off during iftar (opening your fast). Which is why this week's Bayfood Fasts post features the "summer drink of the east" aka the Pakistani iftar staple, Rooh Afza. It's a thick, sweet rose syrup that you mix into water or milk to enjoy - and it has this vibrant color! I made a Gulabi-Ginger Fizz, featuring Rooh Afza (the gulabi part, which means pink in Urdu), ginger ale, some lemon juice, and sparkling water. It's fizzy, refreshing, and rosy! You can find the recipe on the blog (link in bio) AND a how-to in my IG stories. 🌹
