I live in the Bay Area and I like food.
Man, it's been a long week, even with the saving grace of a three-day weekend. Thank goodness it's finally Friday! One way I like to treat myself is with a burger; it's become one of those things I regularly crave in the past year. I think @nextlevelburger can compete with my fast food favorites - and it's 100% plant based! And for a burger fiend like me, I really didn't feel like I was missing out on meat, especially since they use quality, organic and non-GMO ingredients and because of their commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly practices. Be sure to get some of their next level toppings like grilled onions or their house made special sauce when you stop by for @visitconcordca's Comfort Food Week! This is the last weekend to enjoy all of the deliciousness - and you can find a recap (and visits to @canastakitchen and @thelettuceinn) on the blog; link in bio. 🍔
Spaghetti and meatballs are *definitely* comfort food - but spaghetti kelp noodles? I know, I was skeptical too. But, @thelettuceinn's spaghetti kelp noodles (which is their Comfort Food Week featured dish) with a meatless sauce and walnut parmesan is so good that you'll forget that it's a plant-based meal! You can eat the whole plate and not feel weighed down like you would with carbs and meat. Check out the blog for more on The Lettuce Inn, @visitconcordca's Comfort Food Week, and a review of a couple of the participating restaurants (@canastakitchen and @nextlevelburger). Link in bio!
Mexican and Latin American food is my comfort food, and these are a few of my favorite things: sopitos (bb sopes!), empanadas, and flautas. And the best part is that @canastarestaurant is offering a dinner for 2 with agua frescas as part of Concord's Comfort Food Week through Jan 26! Check out the blog for a recap of some of the places I tried that are participating (such as @nextlevelburger and @thelettuceinn); link in bio!
I'm not sure if the Cheesemonger Invitational was scheduled around #NationalCheeseLoversDay or not, but it was the best way to celebrate the holiday a day early! Spent the evening trying ALL the cheeses and seeing some really pretty cheese plates - like this one. 🧀😍 Check out my latest vlog for a quick recap of the cheese festival! link in bio 🎥
an attempt was made. 😂 I’m surprised my hands stayed steady enough to even do this. I definitely want to bake more to get better at piping! 🍰
It’s #RestaurantMonth and Concord’s Comfort Food Week just started and runs from January 17-January 26! Be sure to check it out and you can find a list of participating restaurants on @visitconcordca’s website. 🍽
